This family-owned winery and vineyard is located in the foothills of the beautiful Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. Alto Vineyards began in 1985, a time where there were only six other wineries in Illinois. Though the industry has grown since then, this vineyard continues to take pride in growing high-quality grapes and producing award-winning wines.
Since its first vintage in 1988, Alto Vineyards has won more than 800 national and international awards in wine competitions, never forgetting the family philosophy to produce the highest quality of wine possible.
